Message from the President
Welcome to the North Hastings Quilt Club. Whether you are a seasoned member or reading our site for the first time….I wish you a Happy New Year as we move forward into 2016. I have been in the position of president for 1 year, but the club will be celebrating its’ 24th year of operation this May. It took some insightful individuals to recognize the need for a quilt club in this area and to do something about it. We still have a few of the dozen founding members with us. Time has moved to the present. We are standing at approx. 40 paid members as I write this message to you. Our meeting location has moved from the Manor to the 580 Club on Hastings Street. We still meet every second Wednesday of the month.
The purpose of our meetings is to come together to share a laugh, catch up on news, exchange ideas, share a cup’o, inspire and be inspired with new and old patterns. We love our Show and Tell time where we show off our latest works when we can encourage and be encouraged to stretch our skills and knowledge of all things quilted. We have a wonderful learning team that brings old and new ideas, lessons and patterns to our attention each month. We hope everyone who comes out, feels welcome. We hope you come away from our evening together challenged in some way to move forward in your own journey of putting needle and thread together with fabric, and make beautiful quilts.
Happy quilting everyone.
